- <p>New/old snow interface on norths and souths noted but not alarming. Snow seemed 'glued in' to minimal solar crust prior to New Years. Found only decomposing stellars as the shear plane at the old/new interface on norths that should heal soon. Murdock and the north end of the PC ridgeline top out at 9600' and all profiles at or below 9500'. Still, these are only a few data points that do not mirror the situation in the Tri-Canyons. This structure continues to warrant extra caution. How many remotes and catch and carries in the past few days?</p> <p>Wind drifting was the number one issue in our travels today. Small natural cornice falls and 6" double-decker hard slabs noted in lee terrain with an easterly component. Easy propagation but found few test slopes to match this with the real world. We chose conservative terrain. </p> <p>We had a good run there for awhile before New Year's...but the winds seem merciless and sutained for 2020.</p>
