Quick report

• No avalanches observed. • Very thin snow coverage until about 5500’ with snow depths ranging from 4-12”. • Snow depths increased quickly above 5500’ and ranged from 10-50” with easterly aspects favored for deeper snow due to wind loading by the recent westerly winds. • Above 6000’ there is 10-20” of F to 4F hard snow on top of the stout (P hard) melt-freeze crust that formed during the 2nd week of December. • Dug one snow pit at 6900 on a SE aspect. Snow depth was 51” and consisted of mostly right side up and stable snow. More details in the snow pit profile. • No signs of instability observed. • The Canyon floor had accumulated 3-5” of snow since Friday, Dec. 19th.

• Overcast skies with the occasional flurry above 5000’. No snowfall accumulation. • Mild conditions with calm or light westerly winds and daytime high temps reaching the mid-30s °F on the Canyon floor and the mid to high-20s °F up at 6400’.
