The avalanche occured on a steep, wind loaded pocket above consequential terrain where the individual was caught and carried and incurred a broken leg with evacuation by Teton County Search and Rescue. Avalanche characteristics are estimated based on photos and snowpack structure/observations nearby. This was the second incident in this same zone within the last month.
