SNOW SURFACE: Overall, soft snow surface with 4-6" ski penetration from the parking lot to 3200' - a welcome change! Surface hoar growing at lower elevations, up to 2000'. Recent winds have textured the snow surface, and moved a lot of snow away from exposed ridgelines. The Magnum cornice grew a lot in the past few weeks, with chunks failing into PMS bowl during last weekend's storm. SNOWPACK: Probed from 2700' to 3100' to get a sense of the Holiday crust depth, and overall snow height. 2700 - 2900' - Holiday Crust is generally down 170-210cm, with a height of snow ranging from 220cm - 320cm 2900 - 3100' - Holiday crust dissipates and height of snow was generally 300cm, varying from 210cm - 320+cm See pit photo below for snow structure, test results to the ground in a thin spot (210cm) at 3000' This spot was chosen to make it possible to dig to the ground/check out December crusts, at the rough elevation of glide cracks across the valley. Overall, nothing remarkable in stability test results, and a fairly homogenous snowpack! Occasional light snow transport observed across the valley on Seattle Ridge One small skier triggered sluff in a steep Cornbiscuit chute, running a short distance No new glide releases since the one on south Seattle Ridge this past week, but obvious glide cracks opening on a similar aspect, elevation near that avalanche. There are also dimples in the snowpack that are somewhat suspicious, and may be glides opening? Or they could be old glides that aren't opening just barely covered by recent snow... that said, it looked like more glides are opening in the Library and on south, mid-elevation aspects of Tincan. No cracking, collapsing, or recent avalanche activity

Clear with few clouds in the afternoon, light variable winds occasionally gusting to moderate from the west at ridgeline. Noticeably colder at the valley bottom - 10f - and likely teens above treeline.
