Quick report
- Collapsing
- isolated
Avy Rec 2 course, due to avalanche warning of the day and what we had observed in previous days, we stayed to extremely low angle terrain to go out and dig to see what last nights storm did. Collapsing at old snow/new snow interface. Increased slab formation above the surface hoar layer. When boot packing up the couple of feet, off the road, to a suitable snow field to dig a pit 3 people in our party felt the snowpack collapse beneath them.
