The snow is deep and the slab is so thick now, a person cannot really affect the buried persistent weak layer. It is hard to test weak layers that are so deeply buried. Evidence of natural avalanches from the extensive mid February cycle is still visible on many steep slopes in the Providence Canyon Area.
