Attempted to ski Phantom today. Turned around after observing wind triggered point releases funnelling down the terrain around it, and one sz 1 inside of it. Ridge top winds looked strong. On the benches the snow was supportive on top of the Dec. 8th layer, no signs of instability noted. Surface hoar was growing up to 1800m in the trees. And sun exposed slopes were heating up in the AM and forming a slight crust on anything over 30°. In the morning and in the shade it was quite cold (-25 in the morning) however solar input was quite high during the late morning as it reached the benches.
Multiple smaller point releases observed off of the Ogden head wall. Main sz 1 ran through the Phantom Couloir off the looker right wall. Ridge top winds appeared to bad the trigger, sliding partially down the fan.
