Outstanding conditions on Bell North today - it was as deep as Rogers in Dec ! Knee deep from the col down to the bench at circa 2250m. Lots of loose dries from steep cliffs, some with good mass, sluffing down the first pitch that gets you to the transition rock. Some parties opted to turn around at this point. Ice axe was useful on the boot pack but could’ve used our poles. Upper section skied beautifully. My partner ripped up the wind lip and got face shots on every turn. His sluff did travel quite far though. Easily 40+ cm of unconsolidated pow from 2350m up. No slab whatsoever. Once the FL rises the mass of those sluffs will obviously increase. Big debris on the lake from S facing avi runs that may have punched through ice during last big warm up (see pic 1). Partner skied the alternate exit and had to jump over a small section of exposed ice (pic 2). Might need to walk a bit fairly soon from the parking lot as it’s getting thin!
