Below treeline laps in the boundary lake area. Weather was cloudy with light snow and temperature around -2. Winds were light in that area, but much stronger in the alpine. HS below treeline was 100cm. 15cms of fist on top of 10cm four finger, five cms of 1 finger, the facets to the ground. Significant crust layers down 45 and 65 cms, amidst the facets. Ski penetration 25cm. Boot penetration to ground. Compression test resulted in sudden collapse at CTM6 on the crust layer down 45cms. ECT produced a sudden collapse on CTH6 on the same layer, but it did not propagate across the column. The snow was quickly becoming heavier and wetter through the day.
