Quick Observation

Long walk, cold out, great day! Stayed comfortable on the up track 90% of the way. Last 10% of elevation gain was accompanied by increased winds and proportional suffering. Completed the change over in stages as not to be stationary for more than a couple minutes. The battle to stay warm was real. The initial surface condition from ridge top was still soft snow, trending styrofoam. Ski quality improved rapidly from there. Two teams of two, all reporting the same: great skiing with associated size 1 avalanche activity where you would expect to see it. ie. wind skin near ridge top. Soft slab/loose dry off the skis over convexities. The snow surface skied slow and right side up.
