Scary one from yesterday getting some serious movement on what appeared to be the mid-Feb rain crust layer. With the warming and recent lunar effect, we were getting some wet loose action on the down but nothing major. No wumpfing on the up but a somewhat eery false bottom to the snowpack in areas. Lucky for us, the same knoll on the uptrack slid on our group a few years back so we were approaching cautiously. Trigger location was pretty much within a square meter of the previous spot and the crown wrapped around the knoll out of sight. Well over a meter deep in spots. Good positioning and a lot of luck kept everyone safe.
