E shoulder Chief Pascal

5cm on top of very firm crust @ trailhead turned into 30-50cm of settled powder at ridge line @ 1850m. We rode shaded NW slopes and didn't note any signs of of instability. Dug 5-6 quick hand shear tests and did not get any results which was surprising considering yesterday's multiple incidences. Ski cutting small convex rolls also resulted in no results. I suspect more sun effected slopes would be a very different story. Warmed up considerably during the day with lots of tree Bombs in the afternoon.
