Avalanche Information

Earlier in the day we observed an avalanche in hummer B that was skier triggered on Saturday due to a rider crossing underneath a cliff band that also allowed for wind loading. One of the guys in our crew hit a little drop that was close to a cliff band and was also unfortunately quite a similar aspect/elevation to the avalanche we had witnessed in hummer B. When he landed the air an avalanche propagated right under the cliff band he was next to and it ran about 100m long x 30cms deep. Luckily no one was caught but it reiterated the importance of listening to what the mountain is trying to tell you. I believe that the recent warming event wasn’t enough to completely consolidate the snowpack and has actually in fact made it more reactive in recent days. Observe your surroundings and be safe out there.
