Duffey Lake trip report from our Backcountry Nomads group in the this week. We did 2 days in the Duffey (Wednesday and Today). Found excellent skiing in treeline and alpine elevations on East aspects. 20-25cm fresh over the Dec 26th rain soaked layer. HS 225cm at 1900m. BTL elevations still need more coverage. Windslab in specific terrain features (crossloaded gullies and midslope convexities). Cracking in recent storm snow. No whumping observed. Observed 1x Size 2 and 1x Size 1.5 natural slab avalanche out of steep south facing cross loaded terrain. Tristen ACMG Ski Guide - BC Ski Guides
