Observation: Lower Weber Drainage

I got out today to find a few more inches overnight with storm totals up high just under a foot. In steep north facing terrain the snow is easily sluffing but is manageable by just getting out of the way and letting the snow fly by. A little less angle and the snow is running quite a bit slower as seen in the pick below. This minor wind skin slide was triggered by me when I entered the slope then half-way down the slope on a rollover the snow pulled out a little deeper but was still manageable so long as I was in front. I exited my day on an east slope and as you can see in the pic below the new snow isn’t bonding very well with the old melt-freeze crust. To top it off there was a moderate east wind at the end of the day transporting snow and producing wind slabs such as this one that was just forming.
