Skied up to the Galleon via Danny Moore basin on Sunday.
The park road from the winter lot is hard pack with a firm crust making the ski in and out very quick. Likewise with silverking trail.
In the trees up to Danny Moore the snow is rough ice. Fine for skining up, terrible for skiing out. The crust is not quite thick enough to bootpack either.
In the basin the snow is generally firm with a crust. The crust is supportive for skining and skiing alike, yet thin enough to get a good edge.
In the late afternoon solar aspects above treeline were soft with a thin corn/slush layer on top. Surprisingly pleasant for skiing.
We saw evidence of many wet loose sluffs and 1 size 1 wet loose slide likely from the previous 24 hours of warmth and sun. The snowpack where the size 1 had ran through felt very wet and soft under our skis.
In shady areas above 2000m the snow was mostly windswept and still dry.
Overall coverage in the basin was the best I've seen in the past 3 years.
