Assessing the damage

Toured up to Perley Rock to assess the extent of the recent cycle and warming. Snow transitioned from moist to dry at approximately 1950m. Surface conditions included a thin crust that became less robust with elevation. Ski quality was decent in the Alpine and became progressively more moist and heavy as we transitioned into treeline and below treeline.

Evidence of widespread cycle to size 3.5

Observed moderate blowing snow at ridgetop

Test Profile @2100m, SW aspect, HS 370cm CTM16 (BRK) down 45cm on decomposing fragments x2 Snowpack was progressively resistant and dry at this elevation.
