Today was a combination of investigating multiple slopes and aspects and looking for the variability in the snowpack. We found windward slopes were shallow, snowpack 100cm-120cm the base of the snowpack had 50-60cm of large sugary facets. Lee ward slopes are showing signs of developing wind slabs, This wind slab produced a machine accidental by a party in the area. This variability could wake up or stay dormant. Keep an eye on the bulletin watch for shooting cracks and be wary of shallow rocky transitions.
It seems sometime in the last week it had a natural avalanche cycle running to a size 2.5. Recent winds had reloaded it to a limited extent thus reducing the size of today's machine accidental in the pine bowl avalanche.
