Cold and windy at km13 today. In recent days it seems the wind has affected this area from all directions. Today it was blowing strongly from the east. We found some decent skiing on relatively sheltered smaller slopes but turned tail and headed home rather than venture up higher into the wind.
An old slab avalanche crown was still visible at the back of the bowl. Almost identical in size to the one shown in the latest Google Earth imagery. The debris ran ~400m and the crown was large enough to be seen though the flat light and snowy conditions from the lake, probably 0.5-1m thick.
