Quick Observation

We dug a pit in the paget glades in an opening at 1960m. We noticed two weak layers at 84cm and 97cm. The snow is starting to consolidate well; pencil on hardness scale between 70-80cm. But we found softer facets (4 fingers on hardness scale) above the crust layer (80-84cm). We did the extended column test and a compression test. ECT25 - uneven failure above the early December crust and no result on the compression test. We stayed below tree line, the snow felt amazing with no wind affect. **the title is referring to my friend first outing in 4 years.
