Steep Creek

We skied the east facing slope of Darkside lake and didn’t observe any signs of instability while skiing. Few loose snow avalanches on all aspects in the alpine on steep slopes. The test pit was at 1900M the snow depth was 170cm. There was 3mm Surface hoar on the surface. CTH 6 down 45cm resistant planer CTM 6 down 35cm resistant planer The snow depth at the lake (1694m) was 80cm with a ski pen of 12cm. There was 3mm surface hoar on the surface above 1800m until 2000m where we turned around. Air temperature was in between -8.4 to -9.5°.
