Pamelia Lake Trailhead

Quick report

Plan was for a simple cross country ski to get a view of Mount Jefferson. Road is drivable up to trailhead although very slick coming down hill at the end of day, even with going slow, new tires and 4WD, word of warning. Temps were 36F around noon and same later afternoon early evening. Sky was clear. Winds were mild in this sheltered area. Snow coverage was non existent for first 0.5 - 1 mi and not really skiable until 1.5 to 2 mi in. At roughly 1mi in it is a few inches deep and transitions to 1-2’ closer to the lake. Some small size surface hoar around the lake. No signs of instability.
