Crow Pass

Exited from the Eagle Glacier via Raven Headwall and Crow Pass. The wind has ripped pretty majorly through crow pass, and was actively loading the back side of the pass as we traveled through. On the Girdwood side of the pass, we observed sastrugis over a foot tall, wind stripped slopes, cross loaded slopes, and ice. We observed an old, large crown on the east-facing terrain across the creek and significant avalanche debris in the creek. We managed terrain to stay off of convex loaded slopes when traveling the crow pass trail, which took a significant amount of extra time and involved removing skis to boot pack around concerning terrain features. We felt a single, isolated whumpf on the north side of the Raven Headwall. The Raven headwall holds good snow for cramponing at the moment but it would not be possible to skin and would not be recommended to boot without crampons.
