Dug a pit on a west facing slope, 8800'.
Difficult to find an areas where shrubs were not influencing the results due to thin cover and ended up doing several tests. 3 of 4 ECTs had a propagation with failure. It's possible the one ECTN was due to some inconsistency in the weak layer from the shrubs.
Stuck to the normal route and did not experience any collapsing during the day.
