Appx. 13:15. One whumpf heard and felt, with only one skier and two dogs travelling, appx. 8,400 ft elevation, on {southwest facing} slope ascending from Swan Flat Road to the ridge line before Garden City Bowls. Cracking on surface at elevations higher than this.

I don't have a report from the Garden City Bowls. The snow was too deep and dense for the dogs to be enjoying themselves, and snow pack instability made me weary as a solo traveler.

Snowpack

{Southwest facing} slopes: Faceted surface snow at higher elevations. Lower elevations with a combination of dense loose, damp, meltfreeze crust. No pit dug.
