Beehive Basin

Today, we toured up Beehive in a mix of sunshine and clouds coming through. The winds were calm.

We didn't observe signs of instability such as recent avalanche, cracking or collapsing.

There are about 10" of new snow that fell since Monday. The snowpack, we found, was pretty variable depending on aspect and elevation. Our test results showed no propagation (ECTN14, ECTN22), but they broke on a layer of facets below a crust. 
We also found a surface hoar layer within the new snow from last week and this week.
