-Snowpack and weather conditions matched forecasts -No obvious signs of instability -A thin breakable crust existed on all aspects up to 6,800 ft before the afternoon moisture event (rain). Dug 2 pits before the afternoon rain: -Pit 1: below the notch (jewel basin pass), west facing slope, at 6,400ft. ECTN 20, 30cm down on a thick grauple layer within the new new snow. -Pit 2: below the notch (jewel basin pass), north east facing slope at 6,800ft. ECTP 11, 30cm down on a thick grauple layer within the new new snow. Observed that the slab above the grauple was more cohesive (wind loaded) in this location. No SH observed in this pit, Jan crust was noticeable, but breaking down.
