After several attempts at Great Bear this season all thwarted by logistical issues, we got within spitting distance of the summit only to lose all visibility. Hoar frost starting to form on the surface in various places. Lower elevation snow in the burn was a nightmare.... completely unconsolidated, with boot penetration all the way to the ground and facet quicksand. Wind slab evident at 7000' on the ridge.
