Quick report
We enjoyed dry snow and breezy conditions above 6000’. Tuesday night provided 10cm of new snow that bonded well until the sun broke out Wednesday afternoon. We dug a pit on a SW aspect at 6800’ and noticed several crust layers and rounding facets in the upper snowpack not producing propagating results. On the NE aspects above 7000’ we dodged 1F dense 4-16” wind board and found the riding conditions to be much better on the west side of the divide. By 2pm Wednesday afternoon the solar input overpowered the breezy off and on cloudy conditions and we enjoyed watching numerous wet slides run on the Garden Wall. On our way out Thursday we enjoyed fast travel on supportable surfaces. Instability was limited to solar aspects Wednesday afternoon. Around 2pm things started rocking and rolling with numerous wet loose slides some as large as D1.5 in size.
