Quick report
Skied Jewel Basin area. Noticed some facets in snow around 5500ft in shaded areas off of road on skin up. Snow on southern aspects was getting wet and gloppy by mid day. Snow in shaded NE aspect was heavy and creamy but great to ski and had little evidence of roller balls (picture). Felt comfortable in the shade but skied one at a time on steeper terrain. Our exit was on a western aspect slope that, by midafternoon, was getting rollerballs and hit by sun. Skied one at a time through the short section of steeper terrain in those conditions. Saw lots of large roller balls (appears to be) on southern aspects in steeper terrain in the distance getting hit by the sun - didn't go there, so couldn't tell if it was from today or previous. Overall, great day out there!
