Quick report
Went up Catchers Mitt to see what has happened to the new snow from 3/20, and check on distribution and sensitivity of new wind slabs. Found the small amount of new snow to be completely stripped away from this location and wind slabs to only exist on terrain that had pronounced lee aspects. Where wind slabs existed they were unreactive on test slopes, but were still soft enough that a person or machine could possibly trigger an avalanche where they exist.
1/26 weak layer was not a concern in the elevations where I travelled up to 4000', as the overlying slab had been stripped away. Turned around at 4000' due to very difficult travel conditions.
