Quick report
- Collapsing
- specific
Toured up the east ridge of 4068’ had serval collapses with surface cracks. The largest collapses were about 20’- 30’ radius from us, and smallest were a few feet. We only observed collapsing on the east ridge during our up track. Temps were -15 at 2pm at the Frostbite Wx Station, and a slight breeze on the ridge. Around 12pm and 1:30pm it flurried, but no significant accumulation. We skied off the southeast face from the false summit. It was knee deep (2’ deep) powder but it was slow and sticky from the cold and we think that combined with the lack of base made skiing down very difficult. We think it was the least fun we’ve had in knee deep powder. Once it settles out a little I think it will ride better.
