Post thaw shallow snowpack with no facets or temperature gradient. Stable snow. Used ice axe and crampons on the Lion Head Summer to 4150'. Subsequent observation made in Tuckerman Ravine afterwards.

Observation done at 11:45. Snow started a half hour earlier as S-1. Winds were L to M from the West.
Snowpack
37cm by the trail. Melt Freeze crust on surface in the area was 1F and P with forest cover and P+ and K with exposure to sky and sun. Between 23 and 32cm up was 1F, between 9 and 23 up was P+ to P. ground to 9 up was 1F. TSurf -3.0, T30 -0.5, T20 -0.5, T10 -1.0. Snow was moist below the MF crust.
