Quick report
Approached via castle ravine trail. Booting up one of the 3 main gullies we observed 6-8 inches of dense new snow on top of a very hard crust. Snow was not wind affected, no red flags. Appeared loose and not cohesive. There was evidence of an old avalanche halfway up the gully we chose to ski. No snow till about a mile in on the castle ravine trail. River crossing melted out.
