Cory pass gargoyle valley

Hiked into Cory pass, back side into gargoyle valley had 30-60cm+ of wind affected, firm crust and faceted snow in the north side. Lots of snow covering that valley despite the summer conditions going up. Hikers could want avy gear...old Size 1.5 avy was noted about 50m wide 50cm deep and I couldn't see how far it ran, from about 2500m from a steep north east aspect. Scrambling condition on Edith peaks may require more tech gear then a hiking pack was turned around with no crampons. Wish I brought the skis for the north side! There were a set of tracks up there. Was hot enough to hike with a t shirt all day.
