skiing 8500-~7500' Bear River Mtns - cautious skiing and route finding in difficult trail breaking conditions.
rain below ~7000" dense snow falling above. light ridge winds
we witnessed evidence of natural slide activity on slopes of >30 degrees. slides appeared generally shallow (<6") though one crown face appeared from above to perhaps be 1' deep; having run perhaps 100 meters. we triggered a small 4-6" deep slide comprised of wind slab after dropping a small cornice piece along a wind exposed ridge. lateral propagation was small and the slide ran only a short distance due to concave slope.

snow density was heavy with a few pockets of moderate density snow in the trees on NW aspect. Very heavy rain below 7000 with snow extremely saturated at elevations around 5000-6300'
perhaps some hoar and light density snow layer sitting atop the rain crust from last weekend.
