Went for a short walk up rabbit creek to get an idea on how the new snow was settling. Found significantly lower snow totals at the TH than anchorage, only about 3cms, which was fairly homogeneous to ridgelines. Generally a light East wind with obscure to overcast skies. Snow rates varied, but sat around s-1 to s1. On the walk up and ski out, experienced numerous snowpack collapses in sheltered terrain. Dug a quick pit on the sound side of Ptarmigan pass on the margin of a gully. Found 3cms of undisturbed new snow on the old wind hammered snowpack. A few weak layers in the mid and upper snowpack with basal facets, as has been seen for the past month.
