Quick report

Red Flags
Recent Avalanches, Cracking, Collapsing, Poor Snowpack Structure

Moderate new snowfall amounts in the Tushars compared to what's happening up north but nonetheless we observed a widespread natural cycle at and below treeline in the City Creek Peak Periphery. Countless avalanches noted on tiny convexities and larger slides on +30 terrain most anywhere with a uniform slab. These were all on the north half of the compass, primarily NW-E. No larger slides or evidence noted in the alpine.

Breaking trail was a suffer fest with the constant potential for knee-thigh deep ski pen in protected terrain. It was easy to "submarine" into the lower, faceted snowpack while skinning and skiing. We experienced consistent medium-large collapses every few steps throughout the tour.
