- <p>There's an old joke where after many years of contemplation, the German philosopher Nietzsche proclaimed that God is dead. Not long after, God proclaimed thet Nietzsche was dead. </p> <p> </p> <p>I tell this story because my intention {and hope (wishcast) through fieldwork, observations, and communication} is to put the November PWL of facets to bed. The key is to not let the PWL put me to bed first (!).</p> <p> </p> <p>We profiled the snow at both 7000' and 8060' on northerly aspects. The facets there are 4F+, damp, and rounding and buried 110 and 150cm, respectively. ECTX on both, though a PST 40/100 on the first. See video below. A conservative call would be to relay that thinner areas (less than 4') would have an isolated Moderate danger for triggering an avalanche into these older layers. In these mid/low elevations; however, the snow is dense, rife with rain crusts, and warm. I do believe we will likely remove PWL from the problems soon. </p>
Solars will be crusted in the morning. Some small SH found amongst the medium diameter graupel in the low/mid elevation bands.
