Quick report

Climbed from S lake TH to about 12400’ near Gilbert, traveling mostly on N-NE-E aspects. Carry your skis until 10k and tread lightly after that. New snow from yesterday varies from a dusting at TH to possibly 20cm+ at 12k’. Very little wind affect even above 12k. Air temps stayed pretty cool but strong sun started small rollerballs by mid morning even on northerlies. By the afternoon, flats and all but the steepest northerlies 10.2-10.7k were glop city. Below 10200 the snow was soaked but not sticky any more. Stability seemed good in the high alpine despite significant loose snow depth (boot pen to the armpits). No wind slab behavior where I traveled.
