The upper snowpack has 36cm of storm snow which had several layers jumping out in a compression test easy. The new snow sits on top of the Jan 24 crust. This weak layer had a sudden result in an extended column test (ECTE 10). We found needle shaped surface hoar crystals upto 20mm in size below it. Mid pack is pencil to pencil+ down to 80cm and then basil facets to ground. Observation taken in a cutblock on a 20 degree slope.
