Quick report
Toured on east, south, north, and west aspects today. Found lots of wind affect in higher terrain. In addition, a north aspect had old crowns mid slope, likely from the widespread cycle prior to the most recent storms as the debris was still showing but mostly covered. This north aspect had a hard wind slab from top to bottom. South aspects were becoming damp, roller balls were releasing, tree bombs were falling on north aspects (the only aspects still with snow on the trees), and an observed temperature of 45 degrees at 6400’ at 2:30. Reminiscent of spring out there, not the usual January dry. Remember your glop stopper, sunglasses, and sunscreen kinda day. Not really any signs of instabilities even with all the warming. Soft dry snow could still be found in middle elevation north aspects in the area. Otherwise it seems like the northern portion of our mountains have seen a bit of swirling winds affecting most aspects.
