Quick report
Observed arctic cold air migrating from the north on the heels of the dry cold front. Interesting orographic cloud formations of cold, moist air funneling down the mountainsides. We observed the inversion of the upper Weiser valley slowly retreat.

Cold, clear, with north winds. Wind chill values felt like teens or colder, especially in the shade.
Snowpack
Practiced some pit-digging skills with some ski patrollers preparing to take a Pro 1. We dug on a due north aspect around 7400 feet. HS ranged from 120-160 cm. MF crust from the 01/03 rain event was 40-50 cm down. Faceting rounds were observed throughout the upper portion of the snowpack. Near-surface facets composed the upper 10 cm of the snowpack. Test scores were CTN (no fractures), with mostly ECTX (no fractures).
