Quick report

The snow surface has picked up some heat from the sun is now going to have cross on solar aspects. Good soft snow can still be found on shaded aspects. Few old crowns were visible underneath Cornices on Northern a Aspects that were from natural winds live avalanches during the last storm cycle, all of which did not run full track and would've been too small to bury a person. A lot of tracks and evidence have been erased by the northern winds, beaten down in the upper elevations, and small amount of snow around towards the south.

The only recent instability we saw it was on a southwest steep slope that was getting warmed by the sun in the afternoon and had a really small point release, wet loose, less than D-1 as the afternoon sun warmed up solar aspects. I was able to form a snowball on an east aspect at 2pm from damp surface snow.

Snowpack

Surface hoar spakled in the sunshine. The snow pack is solid, and numerous mit pits at various elevations and aspects showed weak bonding in the upper snowpack layering. The Council Mountain zone has less snow overall than the northern portion of our advisory area . In our test pit extended column tests did not show propagation on weak layers present in the upper snowpack most notably, on facets below the rain crust there's some soft facets, but not propagating as they are rounding...the upper snow pack is very loose and thus weak and will be put under a test with the future snow load.  Crusts are degrading and more so at the middle and lower elevations where the temperature was inverted and remain cold and drove the Facet in process further.
