Quick report
Today we found 2-3 inches of new low density snow that was resting on a variety of slick crusts. The snow must have fallen during relatively calm winds because it was barely wind affected, even at the top of Point 6. We found a couple of small drifts that produced some very minor cracking in the soft new snow. The new snow easily produced very small dry loose avalanches on steep slopes.
Other than some very stubborn cracking in cornice, we observed no signs of instability in older wind slabs.
We dug a pit on a south aspect at 7700 ft and found a height of snow of 220 cm (87"). There were a couple of thin crusts in the top meter of the snowpack, but stability tests did not produce any propagating results.

Overcast in the morning with Point 6 up in the clouds, gradually cleared to broken skies by mid-day. Winds were calm to light out of the west. Temperatures were cool.
