We climbed and skied Snowking mountain sun-mon (3/16-17). We found deeep storm snow and challenging trailbreaking and excellent powder ski conditions. Storm snow totals were over 2.5’ (at 5200’). Anything steep/convex would produce very soft slabs in interstorm layer about 8” down, see below for example. Saw some small natural loose dry sluffs in very steep terrain. The final ridge below summit was exposed to moderate SW winds and the lee side of this ridge had more reactive shooting cracks and wind slab. Solar aspects were not as soft with sun affect
