IMSARU had appx. 35 members training in avalanche rescue and snow travel between Little Deer Point and Lower Point. Cold day with increasing snowfall throughout the day. Part of snow stability demonstrations included basic, quick pits on SW-facing 7 degree slope at appx. 6190 ft to provide general overview of snow stability tests and importance. ECTP12 and ECTP15, fracture at boundary with facets or ice layer (appx. 20 cm) 20-45 cm F hardness 13-20 cm 4F hardness 0-20 cm facets or facets that looked (and felt) like they were bonded with ice, depending on specific location on the slope
