Quick report
Relatively warm, and drippy at the TH with most snow already shed from trees. Snow became drier around 5500'. Overcast in the morning becoming broken clouds late afternoon with minimal wind all day. Wind effect was noticeable in many places with textured snow present even well down into some of the bowls. Wind affected snow was mostly thin and semi-soft, but we did find some places where it has built into quite firm slabs (noticeably more than one week prior). Rime ice was on the east side of trees (easterly flow) while cornices have built up on the usual E to N aspects (southwesterly flow) indicating some significant shifts in wind direction. Layering in the storm snow could be felt at times while skiing.
Avalanche
Triggered a small storm slab in a small opening in trees 6000', NE aspect while skiing. ~10" crown, propagated perhaps 20' wide. Not large enough to be harmful but certainly indicative of layering/weakness in recent snow.
