Quick report
Still pretty bumpy skiing in the trees. The icy tree bombs that were such a bane of existence during the extended high pressure are still easy to feel. The new snow that has fallen is just so low density that it's hard to not sink down to the firmer surface below. Lots of people out in the Friendlies. By the time we had gotten there, almost 10 tracks were already laid down. On steeper, southerly aspects sluffs were running fast and far. We did not get anything to slab up but the new snow is quite low density sitting on a firm melt-freeze interface ~40-45cm down.

Calm and cold in the morning to start. As the day progressed, snow rates increased substantially and temps felt quite a bit colder. By the time we got back to the car, ~10cm had accumulated on our car at the base.
Snowpack
Very low density snow falling throughout the morning and early afternoon. Dug a hasty pit in the clearing at 5200' on a south aspect. Dug 120cm down F hardness down 0-20cm, 4F 20-40cm, then MFCr of thickness ~4cm CT6 SC 40cm on decomposing fragments (DF), did not have a loupe so this is a best guess at the grain type. In general, the new storm snow sitting on the 01/30 interface is rightside up but quite loose and uncohesive.
