Quick report
New snow had been redistributed small amounts since being in a nearby zone yesterday, but it was still softer and weaker than the facets under it. Test slopes still produced dry loose results, and we didn't observe slab formation or any cracking in wind drifts below treeline. We flirted with some near treeline terrain, but turned back quickly due to fears of runaway sleds. Even where new snow remained on the surface near treeline, it was shallow over a firm crust and downhill maneuvers were challenging. Clear views of surrounding big terrain with little evidence of current wind transport or previous avalanche activity, though at a smaller scale we did see some localized wind transport.
